This was a technical case encompassing a high volume of products, equipment, and devices for engineering, and thus a glossary was an essential part of the job.

The job took us a week to complete, from pre-translation processing, translation, QA, post-translation formatting, to delivery... We prided ourselves on completing the job in an orderly manner without compromise on quality.

Contents of the documents:

- Basic materials (bushing, cover, motor, etc.) for medical gases and vacuum systems

- Lists of products and materials and BOQs

- Technical specifications for manufacturing of products (gas piping, valve, compression unit, vacuum system, etc.)

- Specifications for installations (shock, vibration isolation, equipment base, etc.)

- Guidelines for field engineering (installation and testing of piping)

Upon the confirmation of the job, the DTP was started with professional tools to convert the source files (PDF) into Word or Excel documents suitable for translation and subsequent formatting.

Yijie’s several senior linguists then collaborated on a CAT tool where a Termbase was maintained for consistent expressions and the translation progress tracked in real time. Highly-skilled proofreaders were also engaged for quality assurance. The translation was completed successfully thanks to the professionalism of all the participants.

Upon the finalization, the documents were then taken over by other specialists for formatting, printing, and binding before delivery in a folder to the client.
